I painted, drilled and initially installed the pedal mecanism.

I re-finished the aluminum for the engine compartment. I simply applied a matt finish on top, hopefully that'll make it a little eaier to maintain and keep clean.

I have stripped the engine down to the main block and manifolds. I've decided I'm not going to do a full rebuild at this point. I had to strip off all of the smog equipment as I won't need it.

I painted the valve covers (same glossy blue as the engine aluminium and the car stripes)as well as the plenum (the color I have planned for the main body). The engine was painted with por15 engine enamel. The block is Ford Blue, and the manifolds are aluminium colored.

Now I can start building it back up.

Over the last week I got all of the loose ends finished up thus far in the build. That includes:

- Installed gas tank, and connected hard gas lines to tank (with soft lines).
- Installed vapor canister and ran line back to tank (and connected).
- Filled rear end with gear oil.
- Connected soft brake line from rear axle to chassis hard line.

I've started working on the pedal box, and I've started dis-assembling the engine (to prepare for paint).

On Monday I plan to have a paint day. I've decided the engine compartment aluminum should have a flat finish instead of gloss (to minimize maintenance requirement). I'll apply that on Monday. If I've got the engine ready for paint by then, I would like to paint it as well.

For the engine, the block and exhast manifolds will be painted with por15 engine paint - Ford Blue. The upper intake manifold (plenum) will be painted the same color as the silver of the car. The lower intake manifold and valve colors, I haven't decided yet. I think I'd like them to be a aluminum color.

Well, I've done a poor job of posting lately, but I have gotten some work done.

It started rolling on Nov. 15th 2008.

I have now finished all the brakes, and brake lines. I added a prop valve (and didn't use the donor distribution block) even though I'm not going with rear disc brakes (at least not yet). I just thought I'd rather have the flexibility. I did rebuild all of the brakes completely, including the emergency brake cables. Getting the 3 link installed tool more work then I anticipated. Mostly because I had trouble fitting the arm that bolts to the passenger axle for the upper control arm. I couldn't make it fix until I started grinding away some of the excess wield from the factory. Once I figured out that was what I needed to do, it wasn't a big deal.

Finally got a weekend I could focus on the car.

During the week I bought a 5-Lug conversion kit. I spent Saturday cleaning parts and painting with Por15, that stuff is pure magic!

Sunday I working on building up the front end. I got as far as installing the pasenger rotor, the driver's side, just up to the spindle. Hopefully with a little work through the week, I'll have both done. I feel like I'm actually starting to make some progress, and get a better feel for what I'm doing here. I'm sure that's only going to be a temporary feeling.

I spent about 10 hours.

I received the donor palet last week. I've spent a lot of the last week going over all the donor parts, organizing them, and cleaning them.

Probably invested 10 hrs or so.
